You’ll find live music with your favorite Christmas songs, periodic visits from St Nickolaus, and his companions, musical performances including handbell choirs, a top-ranking Army National Guard Dixie band, breakout solo artists, the best high school and professional choirs in the Pacific Northwest, and more! Carolers can be found strolling through the town adding to the Christmas spirit. On Sundays kids can even collect free cookies tracking them down with the cookie crawl map.
Seattle Macy’s Day Parade 2019 – the last one!

This annual post-Thanksgiving parade takes place downtown and is one of the iconic events in Seattle. Sadly, this traditional parade featuring marching bands, floats, sheep dogs, and of course Sana, comes to an end this year as the Macy’s closes up shop in downtown Seattle.
The parade starts at 9am. The route begins at the corner of 7th and Pine, heads down to 5th Avenue where it makes a turn south. The route continues down until University where it turns right. It goes down one more block to 4th Avenue where it takes another right. And then heads on down to 4th Avenue to the finish at Macy’s and Westlake Center. You can scope out a seat anywhere along the route.
Northwest Boychoir, Apprentices at the Seattle Symphony – Holiday Musical Salute

Kick off the holidays at the Seattle Symphony’s 25th annual Holiday Musical Salute! The afternoon features the Seattle Symphony in a concert of seasonal favorites led by conductor Jacomo Bairos and performances by Young Artist Stephen Leou and Northwest Boychoir Apprentices. This popular holiday tradition includes a hot chocolate reception and luncheon, all to benefit the Seattle Symphony orchestra musicians and their futures. It’s the perfect way to start your holiday season!

Whether you’re looking for ideas for your own tree this year or just want to stroll through these beautifully adorned conifers, start your holiday season off with this time-honored tradition (now in its 42nd year!). Since 1978, the talented members of the Dr. Forrest L. Flashman Guild have presented the Festival of Trees, a display of more than 20 beautifully decorated Christmas trees, each with its own unique theme and style. In addition to viewing the trees, read inspiring stories of courageous Seattle Children’s Hospital patients.
